How to control the moisture content of an organic fertilizer granulator

2025/05/14

Controlling the moisture content of the organic fertilizer granulator is the key to ensuring the granulation effect and product quality. The following are some specific methods and suggestions:

1. Raw material selection and pretreatment: Based on the characteristics of the raw materials of organic fertilizers, select raw materials with moderate moisture content. For raw materials with high moisture content, mechanical dewatering methods such as pressing, sedimentation, filtration or centrifugal separation can be adopted to reduce the moisture to a range suitable for granulation.

2. Water addition control, precise water addition measurement: During the granulation process, the amount of water added is precisely controlled based on the initial moisture content of the raw materials and the requirements of the granulation process. When adding water, it should be done gradually to avoid adding too much water at one time, which may cause the material to become overly viscous.

3. Moisture regulation during the granulation process and adjustment of working parameters: By adjusting parameters such as the rotational speed, temperature, and pressure of the granulator, the moisture content of the material is controlled. For instance, appropriately increasing the temperature can promote the evaporation of moisture, but it is necessary to avoid the material being scorched due to excessively high temperatures. During the granulation process, the moisture content of the material is monitored in real time and adjusted as needed.

4. Subsequent processing: The granulated organic fertilizer granules usually contain a relatively high amount of moisture and need to be dried using organic fertilizer drying equipment to reduce the moisture content to the standard requirements. The dried granules need to be turned over for cooling to further release moisture and lower the temperature, preventing granule deformation or nutrient loss.

5. Environmental factors: Adjust the moisture control strategy based on regional and climatic conditions. Adjust the moisture content according to the carbon-nitrogen ratio, aging degree and other characteristics of the material.

Through the above methods, the moisture content of the organic fertilizer granulator can be effectively controlled, improving the granulation effect and product quality.
